✓ Effective
✓ Compassionate
✓ Impactful
After decades working on the frontline in child protection and youth justice, and later leading major reforms in government and consulting, co-founders Andrea Lauchs and Sammy Bruderer saw a gap. They knew that the best outcomes for children, families and communities happen when policy, practice and service delivery are genuinely connected.
In 2023, they brought their combined 40 years of experience together to create Social Vantage Advisory, a specialist advisory practice dedicated to transforming systems and supporting organisations to deliver services that change lives.
From national safeguarding reforms to child protection system reviews to co-designing programs with frontline agencies, Andrea and Sammy have always been driven by one question: how can we do better for vulnerable people and the communities that support them?

Why Work With Us?
We bring a rare blend of frontline experience, reform leadership and practical advisory expertise. Our approach is based on partnership, clarity and a deep commitment to strengthening systems that support children, families and communities.
Our approach is shaped by what we know works:
- We understand the realities of frontline work: Decades in the human services sector mean we know the pressures, constraints and opportunities that shape real-world practice. Our advice is practical and achievable.
- We bridge policy, practice and service delivery: We help organisations connect strategy with day-to-day operations, making sure reforms translate into meaningful change for the people they are intending to support.
- We work in partnership, not at a distance: We collaborate closely with leaders, practitioners and communities. Our style is relational, respectful and focused on building capability, not creating dependency.
- We bring clarity to complexity: Whether it is safeguarding, governance or system reform, we make the complex understandable and the path forward clear.
- We are values-led and impact-driven: Every piece of work is guided by integrity, compassion and a commitment to improving outcomes. As a social enterprise, we reinvest in strengthening the sector and supporting community-led initiatives.
- We deliver solutions that last: Our work is designed to be sustainable, building confidence, strengthening systems and supporting organisations long after the project ends.

Daren Hill
Director/ Slalom
In a room full of technologists and strategists, Sammy was the person who kept us honest. She brought lived experience from the human services field to every co-design workshop on our NDIS Commission DART (Digital and Regulatory Transformation) program – and our solution was genuinely better for it. Sammy’s the kind of collaborator every human-centred transformation needs.

Paula La Rosa
Chief Executive Officer/ Althea Projects
Althea Projects initially engaged Social Vantage Advisory (SVA) through PeakCare and has since partnered with Andrea, Sammy and the team on a number of occasions to support key pieces of work across the organisation, including the development of Program Designs for our child protection and family support services.
Our first engagement focused on developing a detailed Program Design for one of our programs. From that point forward, we have continued to engage SVA due to their professionalism, deep understanding of our organisation, and their ability to translate complex needs into practical, high-quality outcomes. Throughout every engagement, their genuine interest, kindness and commitment to our mission – supporting children, families and individuals in our local community – has been consistently evident.
What stands out most about working with SVA is the breadth of skills and expertise they bring, combined with a truly collaborative and responsive approach. They are flexible and solutions-focused, recently making themselves available at short notice to support us with a tender within a tight timeframe. Their fees are also very reasonable for the level and quality of work delivered, which adds significant value for our organisation.
We would highly recommend Social Vantage Advisory to other organisations. They care deeply about strengthening services and work alongside organisations in a genuine and respectful way to support children and families who are vulnerable in our community. It is clear they are not only highly capable, but also deeply committed to making a meaningful contribution through their work.

Phillip Brooks
CEO / Child Protection and Youth Justice Peak , QATSCIPP
The Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Protection Peak (QATSICPP) engaged SVA to support a range of organisational priorities, including safeguarding, governance, policy development, and organisational capability uplift. Throughout this engagement, SVA has demonstrated professionalism, cultural capability and a strong understanding of the environment in which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled organisations operate.
SVA brings a team with broad and complementary expertise across child protection, youth justice, quality systems, commissioning, and organisational governance. Their advice is grounded in practical experience, evidence and an ability to shape solutions that fit the realities of community controlled and NGO settings. We found their team approach consistent, reliable and aligned to the collaborative ways of working that our organisation values..
Their cultural knowledge is evident not only in their understanding of the historical, cultural and policy context, but in how they work. SVA takes time to listen, build relationships and tailor their approach to cultural protocols, leadership structures and community expectations. They demonstrate respect for cultural authority and ensure that their work supports—not overrides—self determination, community decision making and locally led practice. This is reflected across their team’s engagement style and the tools, frameworks and advice they provide.
